Sync Evolution (calendar, contacts, todo & notes) with eBox/eGroupware

This is for sync Evolution on Ubuntu 9.10 Desktop to your eGroupware contacts, calendar, etc. on eBox. For instructions on Ubuntu 9.04 check this old tutorial.

First we will need to add the PPA for genesis-sync:

  • go to System > Administration > Software Sources
  • click on 'Other Software' tab > 'Add' button and enter 
    ppa:frederik-elwert/ppa
  • Click save and it should do an update so that you don't have to.

After that go to System > Administration > Synaptic Package Manager and search for and check off syncevolution and genesis-sync (or apt-get install ...).

Now Genesis-sync will be available in Applications > Accessories > Genesis. It will open up in your system tray. Right click the icon and go to 'Add Server...' and follow the wizard as below.

You can then also right click Genesis and go to Preferences to open at start-up and set sync automatic time intervals.

Now all you have to do when you want to sync is click the Genesis icon in your system tray or let it auto-sync itself.
